12 Week Appointment

We had our 12 week checkup on Dec. 26. We were able to hear the heartbeat with the Doppler, 160 bpm (maybe a girl?? :) ). Everything is still looking good, according to the doctor. I haven't really gained any weight yet but I am sure that will come soon enough! Almost made it to the second trimester...hoping for more energy and less nausea :)

1st Doctor Appointment

My first MD appt was Dec. 3 at 8weeks 5days. We had a routine ultrasound at this visit. I was so thankful for the ultrasound to put my mind at ease at least a little bit. Up until that point, it was really hard to believe that there really was a baby in there. It was so amazing to see it's little heart beating along. The heartbeat was 179, a good rate for this stage, and he/she was measuring right on target. All great news to my nervous ears :)

Pregnant!

We found out we were pregnant on Oct. 30. I had been on a cruise the weekend before and was still feeling "seasick" and dizzy 5 days after landing on dry ground...so, I decided to take a pregnancy test, just to see. The first test was the plus sign one and being that I tested early the line was so faint I couldn't tell if it was real or my eyes were playing tricks on me. So, I immediately went to the store and got a digital one. There was no denying that one!! Derek wasn't home from work yet so I had to wait for almost an hour to tell anyone! I have never been so glad for him to get home from work! That is a day that we will not soon forget... :)
