25 Week Belly

Here are a few belly shots at 25 weeks:

I can't believe that I am already 25 weeks! Time is suddenly going very fast! We have officially decided on the name Wyatt for little Bmac. Still undecided on his middle name. He has been very active lately...especially when I am trying to sleep :) Derek has been able to feel him kicking a few times now. I have been feeling pretty good...just hungry all the time! I feel like I could eat nonstop some days! Derek has continued to work hard on the nursery. We now have the crib, dresser, and shelves all set up and ready to go. I will post nursery pics soon...

Painting the nursery

Derek has been working hard getting the nursery painted so that we can get the crib together. Here are some pictures of his hard work:

The room before (in the process of cleaning it out):

Phase 1-the bottom part of the wall painted:

Phase 2-the top part painted (and the view from his room)

Phase 3-the stripe:

Dylan's attempt to help paint-Derek wanted to leave it, but I made him paint over it! :)

Can't wait to get the crib set up! Hopefully soon!

Update on my mom: She is doing better and planning to come home later today!! Her biggest problem is still her swallow/tongue control so she had to get a g-tube yesterday for feedings and is not able to eat any real food :( The doctor thinks that with time and rehab, it will come back though! Her vision is improving and she is working with physical therapy on her balance and coordination. Every day seems to be a little better and we hope that it continues this way!! Still waiting for the pathology report....

Update on Bmac's Granny...

My mom had her surgery on Thursday to remove the brain tumor. After 4.5 hours of surgery, we received the good news from the neurosurgeon that he thinks he got all of the tumor removed! It was sent off for pathology, so we will not have those results for about a week. We were finally able to see her on Thursday about 8:30 settled in her ICU room. It was great to see her awake, talking, and joking! Her first night and day in the ICU have been a little rough. Her neck is very sore and she has a hard time getting comfortable. It is taking some time to get the right combination of meds to keep her somewhat comfortable. She has difficulty swallowing and talking because her gag reflex has not returned and she cannot feel her tongue very well. The neurosurgeon is confident that this will get better in time. We are really hoping for some improvement by Monday, or we will have to do a feeding tube, which makes her less then thrilled :( For now, she is limited to ice chips and small sips of water. There doesn't seem to be any coordination problems, so as soon as she feels up to it, she can move around and get out of bed. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day and she will be able to move out of the ICU! Thanks again for all your continued support and prayers...we are so blessed to have so many family and friends looking out for us!!

24 Week Check-Up

I went to the doctor today for my 24 week checkup. It was a pretty boring appointment overall...but that is ok with me :) The biggest news is that I gained 3.5 more lbs in the last 4 weeks, bringing the grand total so far to 7 lbs. If my math is correct, that means that I gained as much weight in the last 4 weeks as I did in the first 20!! A little scary to me, but at least my doctor was pleased :) My b/p was good and Bmac's heartbeat was great at 150. My belly is measuring about a week small but my doctor is not worried about it (yet). Just something to keep an eye on as things progress. Coming up at the next appointment...glucose test :)

In other exciting pregnancy news, I bought my first (and possibly only, based on the small fortune I paid for them) pair of maternity jeans. But they fit perfectly and are so comfortable. Don't be surprised if you see me wearing them in every picture from now on.... :) Here is a little peek at them and my 24 week belly. Warning: if you are offended by bare bellies, look no further!! :)

Baby Shower for Vickie and Baby Harper

On Saturday, I hosted a baby shower for my good friend Vickie. She is due in 6.5 weeks with a baby girl. It was great to get together with all our friends and celebrate their growing family! Harper is going to be one well-dressed little girl!! Big thanks to Missy and all the girls who helped throw the shower!

Vickie and lots of baby clothes!

Big Brother Nolan helping open the gifts

All the pregnant girls at the shower

Vickie-due in April (girl), Missy-due in June (twin girls), Renda-due in August, me in July (boy), and Sabrina-due in September

Missy and I are only 6 days apart in our pregnancies (both our firsts)! It has been great sharing stories and comparing with her. Of course, now that we know she is having twins, our pregnancies are a little different but it has been great having her to talk to!!

College Girls- Me, Kim, Vickie, Susan, Jessica, and Katiri

These girls are some of my very best friends and I look forward to our babies growing up together! I know that the kids are going to love it when we take them on Spring Break :)

On a side note, my mom's surgery is scheduled for this Thursday. We are hoping and praying that the surgery goes well and we get the good news that the tumor is benign. Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes. They are very much appreciated!

Bmac's Granny

It has been a rough week for my family. We found out last Thursday that my mom has a brain tumor. We met with the neurosurgeon on Monday to discuss the plan for treatment. He is pretty sure that it is a type of tumor called an ependymoma. The treatment is surgery to remove the tumor. So, my mom will be undergoing surgery in the next few weeks. Once the tumor is removed, it will be biopsied and we will know if further treament (radiation and/or chemo) are needed. There is also a possibility that he will not be able to remove all of the tumor because it is up against the brain stem. Please keep my mom in your prayers because she wants to be healthy and ready for Bmac's arrival in 18-19 weeks! Thanks and we love you Mom!!
