Baby Shower #3

On Saturday I had a baby shower with friends from work. We had good food, good times, and great gifts! Here are some pics from the shower:

How cute are these duck cupcakes and chocolate suckers?!

I had lots of help opening gifts by Ali, Cara, and Sydney! Very helpful with a belly getting in the way :)

Ali had to work really hard to get to the bottom of this bag. Luckily, she made it out ok!

Big thanks to Gigi and Emily for hosting the shower!!

The baby shower crew

It feels good to know that if Wyatt were to arrive now, we have a way to take him home from the hospital :)

I am so thankful to work with such a great group of people! It really makes work bearable and even fun! Thanks everyone and I can't wait to introduce you to baby Wyatt soon!

34 week Checkup

I had my 34 week checkup with the doctor on Friday. Another boring appointment and good report :) I was only measuring a week behind this week!! This means the belly is finally catching up and Wyatt seems to be growing right on track :) He is still head down with his butt in my ribs and his feet kicking me in the side. I think he has moved down just a little because I can breathe a little easier...until I eat a big meal anyways :) I am meeting with a pediatrician in the office just across the street from my neighborhood on Monday. Hopefully that will go well and I can check another thing off my never-ending to do list! Here is my 34 week belly:

Next doctor appointment in 2 weeks, then I start going weekly! Can't believe how close it is getting!!

33 Weeks

Only 7 weeks to go!! I feel like my stomach can not get any bigger, but I am sure it will! I am still feelling pretty good overall. It is getting more and more difficult to roll over in bed, and always hurts my stomach when I do. I have been slathering on the cocoa butter in an attempt to keep the stretch marks away, so we will see how that goes! I have been lucky to not have any swelling yet, even as the weather is getting warmer. Wyatt has been letting me know that he is not entirely happy with his not-so-spacious accomodations right now! He is all over the place, shifting and squirming and kicking me in the ribs, bladder, side, etc. I think he is going to be happy to get out of there and stretch :) Here is my 33 week belly shot and some updated pics of the nursery after our last shower:

Peyton is showing off the new rug, a gift from Grammy (he is very interested in everything in Wyatt's room!)

Family Baby Shower

We had our family baby shower this past Sunday (I am a little behind on my updates this week...it has been a little busy!). My aunts and my brother's girlfriend Nicole, did a great job putting the shower together and Wyatt got lots of goodies! The nursery is really coming together and his closet is starting to fill up :) We are so lucky to have lots of family who are anxiously waiting to meet Wyatt and are thankful for everyone's generosity! Here are some pictures from the day...

32 week Checkup

I had my 32 week doctor appt on Friday. It was very uneventful, which works for us :) My b/p and Wyatt's heartbeat are both still good. I gained another pound and only measured 2 weeks small this time! My doctor pointed out that I really need to pick a pediatrician so I guess we will be working on that in the next few weeks! Here are a few new belly pics:

Tomorrow is my family baby shower that my aunts are throwing for us. I am very excited for it!! Pictures to come soon....

3D/4D ultrasound

Things we learned about Wyatt today during our ultrasound:

1.) he has long toes like his Dad

2.) he has hair!!

3.) he is rather stubborn! (well, we already had a feeling this was the case, as evidenced by our 20 week ultrasound also)

4.) he is a snuggler (he is using the placenta as a pillow right now, all cuddled up with his face on it...as you can see in all the pictures)

5.) he loves his hands up by his face and may be a thumb-sucker :)

6.) he is limber-he had his foot in front of his face at one point!

7.) he may be a little shy

8.) he is for sure a boy :)

Due to all these wonderful discoveries, we were not able to get much of a face shot, even after trying for a half hour to get him to move to a more favorable position and get his hands out of his face! :) We were able to get a few decent shots of the side of his face, but that is about all. We even saw him smile, like he was enjoying being difficult :) The tech was so wonderful, trying everything to get him to turn, but he was all nestled in and not about to cooperate! Guess he is just saving his big reveal for when we get to meet him in person!

1st Baby Shower

We had our first baby shower on Saturday. Our friends Doug and Sarah had a cookout at their home to celebrate Wyatt's upcoming arrival. The day turned out to be perfect...the rain stayed away and we had a great time hanging out with friends. The boys had a pretty intense cornhole tournament and the kids ran and jumped like crazy in the bounce house. Overall, a good day for everyone :) Big thanks to Doug and Sarah for hosting the craziness and to everyone who attended! We are very excited to actually have some baby "stuff" to put in Wyatt's room :) I wasn't very good about taking pictures throughout the day, so here are the few that I have...

30 Week Update

We had our 30-week doctor appt today, along with an ultrasound to check on Wyatt's growth. Great news!! Everything looked good...they estimated his weight at 2lbs 15oz which is the 52nd percentile (meaning that he is "average" size). They also checked the blood flow to the placenta with a doppler and amniotic fluid levels and all was normal...what a relief!! My belly is still measuring about 4 weeks behind but it did grow over the past 2 weeks and I gained 3 more pounds (big thanks to Emily's chocolate chip cookies and Wendy's frosties)!! My doctor says that since the ultrasound was good, we won't worry too much about the measurements, it is probably just the way I am carrying and my small size. We will probably continue to get more ultrasounds to keep on eye on everything though...no complaints from me about that :)
Here are a few pictures of our little guy...we also confirmed again that he is indeed a boy :)

Profile view...isn't he handsome!

Another profile shot with his arm bent up and his hand by his face

It was fun to get an idea of how he is laying in there. His head is still down and the tech confirmed that his spine and bottom are shoved into my ribs on the right...as if I didn't know that :) Then, he is kicking me with his legs on the left side of my belly. We are having a 3D/4D ultrasound next week just for fun, so hopefully I will have more good pictures then!! Thanks to everyone for their support, advice, and prayers over the past few weeks!
